Spring in my terrace
73Hi Frieda! Hi everyone!
Last week's Spring HubMob inspired me to do a Babbley(c). Some of the photos were taken a few days ago and depict the incoming spring, but most are from last spring and summer. Who's to know what's what, though, as I was smartly told by Shirley Anderson, hubmobster extraordinaire. Thanks for the tip, Shirley!
However, I guess I'm much of a goody two-shoes to do the Sping HubMob with photos that aren't so. In any case, I'm still doing the Babbley.
So here's a collection of wonderfulness from my terrace. Yes, all of them are from home, no copyright issues here. And if I later see these photos circulating around, I don't suppose I'll have a sissy fit. After all, who could blame anyone for snatching a few of these magnificent shots. Ahem...
The capsules are grouped per subject matter, I think it'll be useful (and fun) to read the titles. The captions are a humorous recount of the specimens that ever so graciously share their vital space with us.
I hope you have a good time enjoying the pretty sights and the silly commentary. Here we go, Babbley, baby!
Oh, one last thing: Notice the URL for this hub... I messed up! SPING SPING SPING! Go on and laugh at my expense, I already did!
The TITS... yes, you've got that right!
Cactus or trumpets?
Love and Hate
Fruits and other goodies!
Ready for more flowers? Late spring and early summer!
Last but not least, CACTUS!

WOW!! On your terrace!!?? Will you come landscape for me? We don't quite have the same climate as Spain, but it looks like you could still make it beautiful!
The Love and Hate looks very much like an amarillus. I have never been successful at growing an amarillus more than a few weeks after bloom.
And is the Don Diego related to Jasmine?
You have such a beautiful view from your terrace. I've never been one to have any desire to travel outside the United States except to see Tuscany. But your pictures may persuade me otherwise.
Thanks, Frieda for giving her the "inspiration". :-))
fantastic photos, I loved them!
Dear god, eleni. These are flippin gorgeous. The tits are amazing! I wish mine looked like that. I'm sharing this one. It's so inspirational. You should frame these. Oh, never mind. You get to see them all the time!
Oh, Elena, I was right there on your patio! Fantastically beautiful photos! For the first time in my life, I *like* cacti! And you have plum and peach trees! I'm sooooo jealous! Thank you so much for sharing your little bit of the world. (Still love those views of the rooftops, btw.)
Your flowers are absolutely lovely! The cactus are so pretty, and the hibiscus is fantastic.
Beautiful!! I also see the subliminal message on some of them , how hilarious!!!Lol. :) I do have to say that you are a great photographer and have clearly defined what spring is. :) I loved the plum tree and the love and hate .:)
These are beautiful. I agree with PM, you should come to Oklahoma and do some landscaping for the two of us.
You certainly have a beautiful and thriving container garden! I especially like your Four O'Clocks...er...Don Diego Del Noche! ;D
Today is the first 50 degree day of the year...I am dying for spring. Thanks for the spring fever! I can't wait.
Be-u-timous!
Loved it - loved it - loved it...Very nice my dear...I have plum and cherry and apple and pear trees here and my favorite blossoms are from the trees...The flowers and cacti are also wonderful...I just have such a brown thumb tho :O(..Thanks for the fresh start to my day...G-Ma :O) Hugs & Peace
Wow! That's quite the terrace garden you have(And some naughty flowers too - Georgia O'Keefe would have a field day! I must get two tits! Ha!) Really, I'm quite impressed. You must have green tits...I mean "thumbs!)
Thanks for letting me see a little spring, for here it has not yet sprung!
Elena: I am sitting here with my mouth wide open, WOW!!!! And this is your terrace?! Puts me to shame, we have garden space, and none of these beautiful flowers and fruits. I enjoyed looking at all your photos, you are encouraging me to get into gardening!
BEAUTIFUL! I really enjoyed looking at all the flowers. Wonderful job! Angel trumpets are one of my favorites, but i can't keep them alive. I'm an angel trumpet killer. Fresh peaches...that's heaven! Love em! Oh and it's very interesting about the flowery tits. :D lol
Got any sangria ready?
what a gorgeous garden - particularly the fruit trees, the herbs and the raspberries in such temperatures on a terrace! no brown thumbs live here!...cheers
great photos too!
Thanks for sharing pics of these flowers. They are absolutely beautiful.
My terrace's ledge is lined up with nasty looking cactus, my first line of defence as it connects to my bedroom :D
Awesome pictures! Too early for spring here...we'll get one last snowstorm in early May, if last year repeats itself! Still - I found some old mums in 2 pots in my garage today... they are growing strong, without light, water, sun, or love. YET, when I plant something in the ground and call it beautiful three times daily, it dies. Go figure. I'm with PM - will you come landscape for me too??
awesome, you got so many wonderful flowers and plant!
what a nice home you have...
Elena--you're just getting here, and I'm just going to bed! :(
I hope to catch up with you tomorrow!
Your photos are amazing. You have quite the green thumb. Yours are the most beautiful cacti I have ever seen. Lovely.
They are. By the way, out of curiosity, what's a Babbley?
I just clicked on the link. Very sweet. Sounds like a great idea. (She's very funny, I'm going to have to visit her pages.) Those photos are truly beautiful. You have a great eye.
Ahhhhh. Another beautiful Babbley. You must have the most awesome rooftop terrace in Madrid. I am so friggin jealous.
I have a request. Maybe you could gift us with a map of what your terrace looks like...I think it has a 90 degree bend? Or more bends? How many square feet? Where are these awesome tits and peaches in relation to each other?
I'm sure you know there is a green movement to landscaping rooftops. I'm not sure that's what you are trying to do, but it seems as if you doing it nonetheless.
I would love to see a map of your roof garden. Like a bird's eye view.
You made a gorgeous, gorgeous Babbley.
Elena, you Babbley'd well! The photos are just beautiful! Thanks for sharing them.
I was in Spain for 2 weeks a number of years ago and I loved it! Everything grows so beautifully, too. You have quite the green thumb!
Happy Sping, Elena! :)
Awesome google shot. I have so many questions...does your flat open directly onto the roof, or do you have to go up stairs to get to the roof? How did you find this incredible place to live? If the garden and your living area are not on the same level, how do you get water up there to the garden? Glorious, glorious environment. Yours seems to be the only roof garden in the area (from the google shot)...is there a community gardening program where you live? Like I said, many questions. Time for me to say good-night, and also that your new avatar is way cool.
This was so fantastic I had to call my wife over to have a look. You are cetainly a gifted horticulturist. So many cacti with such beautiful blooms.
A ray of light in a darkening world.
Thank you.
I had to admire your lovely plants from afar (and definitely do admire them!). You would not want me getting too close and personal. I have the most non-green thumb (we call it a brown thumb) ever!
Thanks for sharing your spring with us, Elena! Mm
Everytime I look at this I see such beautiful flowers. :)
Some lovely photos.
I'm a hugh cacti fan and find them really beautiful - but mine never get to looking like that
Well done
Hi Elena. These cacti (and pictures) are beautiful! When I lived in Calif., I was able to grow them, but I haven't had much luck in the humid south... At one time I lived in the desert, and every year the whole desert floor would erupt in blooms. It was, in a word, spectacular! You have quite the green thumb, don't you! Thanks for sharing.
Still so in love with this photos. Hope you're doing well.

Lovely stuff, Elena. It feels great now doesn't it, love it over here in spring. It's my favourite .... before the scorching heat of summer.
Still lighting the woodburner in the evening though....
